4. Don’t let others tag you in their posts without your confirmation

Many of us encountered such situation when our friend tags us in an unwanted Instagram post where we look not so great. Instagram posts where you are tagged in automatically appear in your tagged photos section.

Luckily, there is a solution to this. You can disable users from tagging you in their posts without your approval.

It basically means that each time you will get a notification informing you that someone wants to tag you and you will have full discretion in choosing whether you want to be tagged in it or not.

You can reject it and this post will not appear in your Tagged posts section. Here’s how to do it.

Click on the menu icon at the top right corner, select “Settings”. Go to “Privacy”. Go to “Tags”. Under the Tagged posts tab click on “Manually approve tags”. Switch the toggle on next to “Manually approve tags”.

Done! Now every time someone wants to tag you in their post, you will be notified about this and will be able to approve or deny it.

5. Archive posts instead of deleting

Have you heard of post archiving feature? Many know this feature, however, not many use it. This is a great feature to hide your posts with a possibility to restore it later with all the likes and comments that it has gathered.

Basically, it does remove your post the same way as deletion does, but you will still have a chance to get this post back in case you change your mind later.

If you delete your post, post with all the likes and comments will be deleted permanently and you won’t be able to get it back. You would need to republish that post as a new one with zero likes and comments.

To archive a post, just click on the three dots icon at the top right corner of selected post and from the drop-down menu select “Archive”. You will be able to view all of your archived posts in “Archived posts” folder too. Simple as that.
