In this article I will show you how you can disable people from tagging you on Instagram without your permission.
If you are tired of everyone tagging you in random Instagram posts and don’t want to keep on removing tags manually, there is a way to make it simpler. You can edit your tagging settings so that Instagram would inform you about the tag and tag would be added only after you manually approve it.
Just follow these steps:
- Open up Instagram app on your phone and login to your Instagram profile.
- Proceed by clicking on the menu icon at the top right corner.
- Tap on “Settings and privacy”.
- Now scroll down and proceed to “Tags and mentions” section.
- Now you can either select not to allow tags at all or you can simply choose the option “Manually approve tags”. This means that you will need to manually approve each tag before it appears on the Instagram post. So, just tap on “Manually approve tags” and switch the toggle on.
- Now confirm it by clicking on “Turn on”. That’s it.
